Si chiama “Progetto Cura Famiglie” l’iniziativa proposta dal Rotary Club Latina insieme al Rotary Club Latina San Marco e al Rotary Club Latina Monte Lepini, in collaborazione con la Caritas Diocesana.
“Aiutaci ad aiutare” è l’invito che i club del Rotary rivolgono ai cittadini di Latina: «La pandemia ha acutizzato i problemi sanitari, economici e sociali delle famiglie più vulnerabili – spiega Antonio Currà, Presidente della Commissione Progetti del Rotary Club Latina – con il “Progetto Cura Famiglie” intendiamo, per quanto possibile, attenuarne le conseguenze negative».
La novità dell’azione del Rotary sta nelle due modalità di intervento individuate: «Il Club agisce sia rendendo disponibili le professionalità dei soci – prosegue Currà – che promuovendo la raccolta fondi>. Il che significa che insieme al sostegno economico, i soci del Rotary Club Latina mettono a disposizione le proprie professionalità con azioni di servizio nel settore medico, legale e amministrativo.
Una iniziativa nata già nel corso della prima fase della pandemia grazie all’impegno di due imprenditori e inizialmente mirata ad aiutare le famiglie meno abbienti di una parrocchia della città, poi divenuta progetto del Rotary nel momento in cui s’è concretizzata la collaborazione con la Caritas: «Una collaborazione frutto di un comune sentire – spiega Angelo Raponi, direttore Caritas Diocesana di Latina-Terracina-Sezze-Priverno – e del desiderio di rendere un servizio a favore delle famiglie più vulnerabili vittime dell’emergenza Covid-19. È un segno concreto, che dimostra come, anche in un tempo difficile come quello che stiamo vivendo, è comunque possibile, con il contributo di tutti, realizzare il bene comune».
In pochi giorni l’iniziativa ha già raccolto quasi 5000 euro, una cifra destinata a salire con gli eventi in pianificazione come quello di dicembre tenutosi in Piazza San Marco dove è stato allestito un gazebo per la vendita di confezioni, da due o tre bottiglie, di vino della Catina Sant’Andrea. L’intera raccolta di denaro è stata devoluta alla Caritas Diocesana.
